We are seeking a caring, reliable, and fun-loving Direct Support Professional (DSP) to spend time with a woman in her 30s who receives services through the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD).
This role is not your typical caregiving position—it’s about companionship and making weekends more fun. The client is independent, social, and enjoys activities like karaoke, bowling, movies, trying new restaurants, shopping, or just hanging out like a girls’ night out. She usually spends time with her mom but is looking to enjoy outings with someone closer to her age (20s, 30s, or early 40s).
Schedule & Pay:
- Occasional Saturdays (not every weekend, usually 1–2 times per month).
- Outings typically last 3–4 hours.
- Mileage is reimbursed.
- Guaranteed earnings of up to $150 per Saturday while simply having fun and making a difference.
Responsibilities:
- Accompany the client to fun outings and community activities (Karaoke, Scene 75 etc.).
- Provide friendly conversation, companionship, and encouragement.
- Offer light supervision to ensure safety (client is independent but benefits from a close eye to prevent falls).
- Treat the client with dignity and respect—help her feel included and enjoy her time out.
Qualifications (Required):
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 20 years old.
- Responsible and reliable.
- Good driving record, valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and auto insurance.
- No serious criminal history.
- Understanding of working with people with developmental disabilities.
Preferred Qualifications (can be completed at hire if not current):
- DSP training.
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- Negative TB test.
About the Client:
- Friendly woman in her 30s.
- Communicates clearly and walks independently. [No personal care/grooming needed].
- Outgoing and enjoys fun, social activities.
